USPS Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending for days

Are you seeing the message “Shipment Received Package Acceptance Pending – The acceptance of your package is pending” on the USPS tracking page?

The United States Postal Service is the independent postal service agency run by the federal government of the United States. It is also known by the name USPS. The USPS is one of the most used postal services along with FedEx and UPS in the United States.

What does “The acceptance of your package is pending” mean on USPS tracking?

USPS Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending. The acceptance of your package is pending.
The acceptance of your package is pending. USPS Shipment Received, Package Acceptance Pending.
  • This means that the USPS window clerks have accepted the parcel from the shipper/seller. But, it hasn’t arrived at the first USPS sorting facility.
  • Often, the shipper/seller hand over a larger shipment to the USPS. It contains around 50 individual parcels/mails. The large shipment gets scanned but the individual mails take some time to be scanned. The employees usually don’t scan the individual mails and send them to the sorting facility.
  • You will receive new tracking status once your parcel reaches the SCF. The SCF stands for “Sectional Center Facility”. It is a Processing and Distribution Center.
  • If the USPS has not received the parcel from the shipper/seller then the message would be “USPS Pre-Shipment: Shipping Label Created, USPS Awaiting Item” and you wouldn’t have received this new status message at all.

Solution

It is normal to see this message for up to 48 hours. Since it might take some time to be processed at the sorting facility, especially during the festival season. But if the message is showing beyond 2 days then you should contact the USPS customer carearrows. They are the one who can tell exactly where your package is.

If it takes more than 15 days then your package might have been lost, broken, or stolen. There is also a possibility that the USPS employees have forgotten to ship it.

Dos and Don’ts

  • Never send breakable things via USPS.
  • Consider USPS shipping insurance
  • Always try to include a landmark with your address
  • Provide residential address instead of company address.

For better and faster service, you can try FedEx and UPS over the USPS in the future. If this post has helped you then please share it on social media.
