[𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐛𝐲 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞] Are you receiving this message on DHL, Shipment on hold after delivery attempt? Here you can know the reason for the message and procedure to fix the problem easily.
Reason(s)
This message will appear on your DHL tracking page in case a delivery is attempted when you were not at your home. This message may also display in case the DHL can’t find or locate your address properly.
Solution
First delivery attempt

During the first delivery attempt, the DHL may drop a “missed delivery card / not-home card” in your mailbox. It will look something like the above image.
On the missed delivery card, you can find the ‘pick-up point’ for your parcel where you can visit and get your parcel. Remember, you need to show a valid ID document (driving license or passport) to collect your parcel
(or)
If you want the parcel to be delivered at your doorstep instead of getting it from the ‘pick-up point’ then you can plan a new delivery moment by providing the delivery code from the missed delivery card or the barcode number of the item with desired delivery date, and place on the DHL website. Belgium users use this link – http://track.bpost.be/red/requestRedelivery.do, Netherlands users use this link – https://www.dhlparcel.nl/en/node/42 and others just Google for the link.
(or)
Depending on your country, there may also an option which you can choose to deliver your parcel to your neighbours house if you know that you will not be at home for the next delivery attempt.
Remember, you have to choose the desired delivery date or method on the DHL website before 11:59 pm on the same day when delivery attempted first.
Second delivery attempt
In case, you didn’t choose a desired delivery date on the DHL website. Then the DHL will again try to deliver the parcel on the next working date.
If you are not available again during the second delivery attempt, your parcel will be returned to the nearest DHL shipment terminal. The address of the terminal will be available on the tracking status.
You can get your parcel within 7 working days at the DHL shipment terminal. Please don’t forget to bring a valid ID to verify it is you and the ‘not home card / missed delivery card’ which left in your home mailbox. By using the tracking code on the card in your mailbox, you can track the shipment and check the location and working hours of the DHL terminal.
If you still have any doubt then you can just call the DHL Customer Care Number (for all countries) available here.
