[ππ§π¬π°ππ«ππ]Β β Does FedEx displays the message “Package not due for delivery” when tracking your item on their website? Here you can know why FedEx delivers such message and what steps have to be taken from your side to get the package as soon as possible.
FedEx operates all over the world and on most of the days in the month. You can ship parcels to other countries or receive parcels from any part of the world. They have both economic and fast shipping options. You can choose either one of it based on your convenience.
The FedEx displays the status of your shipment whenever they are updates available. This is for let you know the status of your shipment and this is one of such message.
What Will I Learn?
Reasons
FedEx displays this message for one of many reasons and you can see all of them below.
- Your shipment has arrivedΒ at the location sooner than expected and FedEx has put it on hold until the delivery date. If you had paid for 2 days delivery then it will be delivered to you on the 2nd working day, weekends don’t count.
- The shipper who had send the parcel to you doesn’t want it to beΒ delivered prior to the expected delivery date. In these case, the shipper had mentioned the ‘allowed early delivery date’.
- It is a Saturday and the sender has selected economic plan for the shipment. FedEx doesn’t deliver on Saturday unless it is a premium shipment. The overnight delivery costs double than the normal 2 days delivery.
- There are no drivers available to deliver the package to you at the moment.
- The FedEx truck has limited room for the parcels. So the parcels due for delivery today are given the topmost priority over the other parcels. The parcels which are not yet due are left off at the FedEx offices due to the limitations of space and time.
- If the parcel didn’t make through the security check then it will be sent back to the sender and the sender has to ship it again. This will also trigger the ‘package not due for delivery’ message.
FedEx Package not due for delivery, Can I pick it up?
As per FedEx policy, they won’t handover packages directly to you before the first delivery attempt. But some employees don’t care about it and they might hand over the package to you if you show them a valid government issued ID and the tracking number.
Normally FedEx tries to deliver a package three times. After the 3rd attempt, the receiver can only get it by driving to the nearby FedEx center.
How do I knowΒ which FedEx center is holding my parcel?
After the third failed delivery attempt, the FedEx will display it to you on the tracking page (or) you can find it on the door tag left by the driver at your home.
If you want to know the FedEx center in advance before a delivery attempt by the driver then you can check your tracking page where they might have mentioned the office (or) the town where your package is currently in.
Please call the FedEx and inform them that you will collect theΒ parcel since they might take it to the next location (or) they might make a delivery attempt when you are visiting the FedEx office. This will create confusion. Also, they might refuse to deliver you the package before the first delivery attempt and you can know it in advance if you call them in advance and so you don’t have to drive to their office.
Don’t forget to carry a valid identification card. Otherwise, they won’t hand over the package. It is for the confirmation that you are the original owner of the package and no one else.
Solution: What action should be taken from my side?
If you want your parcel but don’t want to visit the FedEx center then you can just wait until the expected delivery date. No action is needed from your side. You can call the FedEx customer care for your country and ask them your additional queries and they will answer them.
Just stay tuned and excited and have a good sleep. You will get your phone or gaming console or whatever inside the package safely soon.
